Improved Film Poster

Improver Magazine front cover

Magazine & poster feedback

Now i have completed my poster and magazine products i am going to collect feedback then make improvements on the two products. From this i hope to improve and make my products more professional looking and also more appealing to my target audience.

Jess Smith (Age 18) - I think the poster isn't very good my reasons for this is because there isn't much colour in the poster and it is to bland. I do however like the lay out and also the messages at the top of the poster and how each line of words start with f,e,a and r to make the word fear. It fits in well with the theme of the film and poster.

In the magazine i dislike how the photo is over shadowed by all the headlines and titles. It doesn't put enough focus on the main character from the film on the magazine. It also looks like the magazine has no basic structure in the layout, my reason for this is because nothing looks organised it all looks like the headings have just been placed in random places and no care has been taken when this element of the magazine was being addressed.

Tom Morrey (Age18) - I am not very keen on the poster as i think it doesn't look very well made although i do like the background photo and think it is a good base for a film poster. I also like the idea of the r on the F.E.A.r being smaller as it represents it being the boy that gets bullied in the trailer. I also think there isn't enough emphasis on the coming soon at the bottom of the poster as it doesn't really stand out much.

I think certain elements of the magazine work well such as the name looks very professional and also the back ground photo. I also like how some of the magazine is glowing red compared to the normal colour scheme of blue to bring readers attention to the elements glowing red such as the coming soon near the top left of the magazine.

Jake Guest (Age 19) - I think the poster is to basic although this can sometimes be good in posters it is not very affective in this one. I Also think there isn't enough of a colour scheme going on as all the writing is just plain white. Also there is nothing that tells you what minimum age you have to be to watch this film, but it do like how the actors are in a more bold writing at the bottom as it puts emphasis on the good actors used to produce the film. I do think that the background picture could work well in a poster though and think the picture should stay when improvements are made.

I am not much for the colour on the magazine as it doesn't work well together with the black and white photo effect. I have also noticed some spelling mistakes in the magazine which makes it look very unprofessional. I do like the name of the magazine and the little design with the website underneath i think that works well. I also do not think that the circle in the corner of the magazine looks ver good as i have never seen magazines with that effect used before.

From this feedback i have now gathered i can now begin to take into consideration the things that they do not like and try to improve up on my products to try and make them look more professional and appealing to my target audience.
